The last recipe was vegan friendly. This one is not!

mmmmmm, meat!
But it can be gluten free, if you use corn tortillas and gluten free ingredients. So, this is the meal I make most often, at least twice a month. I love it because it is so easy and so delicious. All you do is throw all those ingredients in your slow-cooker and cook it for 4-8 hours. Plus, it's very cheap. That is about 3 lbs of pork shoulder for only $5.48, compared to 3 lbs of chicken breasts, which would be about $8. Every dollar counts, people! Side note: be sure to buy a pork shoulder or a pork butt. These can be sort of hard to find, sometimes the shoulder will be cut into steaks with the bone still in it. If this is all you can find, it is fine to use. You don't even need to cut out the bone because the meat will just fall off it after it is done cooking. But, don't use any cuts of pork like some roasts which are flavored with juices. They will make this recipe taste funny.
After your slow cooker is finished, your pork will look like this.

And after a few pokes of a fork, it will look like this!

It will be so tender that it takes no time to shred. It basically falls apart. Oh it's so good! Then you put it in a tortilla (corn if you want to have a gluten-free, or more authentically Mexican meal), add cilantro and lime juice, and you're done! You could add cheese, pico de gallo or sour cream, but honestly the pork is so flavorful you can hardly taste them. I suggest you just stick to the basics. Plus, if all you have to buy for this meal is pork, tortillas, limes and cilantro. It will be super cheap. Let's do the math. Pork ($5.48), 20 corn tortillas ($2.00), 2 limes ($.20), and cilantro (.90)= $8.58. And this makes at least 6 servings, more like 8. So it is only $1.07-$1.43 a serving. You can't beat it!

Though these pictures do the meal no justice (the Real Simple one is much better), they still make my mouth water! Too bad we ate all the leftovers. I guess I'll just make it again!
